FOUND ! Happy Endings | Queensland Lost Pet Register – Gold Coast

Want to feel good ?  These are all our “happy endings” !

Read all of these as you will most likely be able to relate to a few of them…  and yes NEVER stop looking, NEVER give up.  There was a story published within the GC Bulletin about how a dog was reuinited with is owner 10 years later !   At the same time, this a perfect time to remind everyone to MICROCHIP YOUR PETS.  Also, many vets offer free microchip checking to ensure they have not migrated and they’re still working.

I love that [all your volunteers] help pets find their homes/ owners and it give everyone the chance to help out too, Its not just a site for people try and scam its an actual Helpful Page That also helped me find my lost dog 2 weeks ago which i am very greatful for :)
Thanks
Jamie J.

The obvious answer is that this incredible facebook page should be truly proud of the fact that they have been responsible for reuniting an amazing amount of family members with the four legged and feathered family members. You ROCK guys!
Peta G.

I love your pages and one of the main reasons is that it can help spread the word about lost and found pets when other organizations are closed especially public holidays. Many years ago my elderly dog wandered off at Easter and I only found him when someone was able to ring the pound and report him on the first day after the holiday break. We had searched all our regular walk trails but he had gone in the opposite direction. It still haunts me.
Dell P.

I love that I know there is an organisation to help me if I am ever missing one of my babies. My pets mean the world to me and to know I will have support in finding them if they are ever missing is reassuring. I appreciate all the hard work these wonderful people put into maintaining this group.
Kellie W.

The “unity” and collective consciousness of everyone helping – its very Australian!!!
Sharon F.

They helped me reunite with my gorgeous lil girl (my dog) and I couldnt be more greatful.
I also love the fact ive been able to help other people reunite with there lost pets by sharing links or directing them to your page.
the page is for an amazing reason and I wish everyone in the world could be as lucky as me to be able to find thier missing pet thanks to an awesome page!
Sarah K.
What I like best about Queensland lost pet register is you are providing a way for families to get in contact with their furbabies. Too many people give up to early on finding their pet you are providing people a way to reunite with their loved animals. :)

When your Pet first goes missing, please do the following.

  • Make sure their Registration and Microchip information is up to date – All cats and dogs on the Gold Coast must be registered and microchipped !  If your pet microchip details are in another person’s name, contact the other person to have them contact you.  If your details are out of date, update them now (even if you do not have the original papers).  If no microchip, I would strongly advise that you put this at the top of your TO DO list when the pet is returned to you.

Register / Update Your Microchip Details – contact any of the following for further assistance:

    • National Pet Register  (website ) PH 1300 734 738
    • Australasian Animal Registry ( website ) PH 02-9704 1450
    • Central Animal Registry ( website ) PH 03-9706 3187
  • Notify ALL Vets in your surrounding area, call the Gold Coast Pound (Phone: 07 5581 7600), RSPCA (Phone: 1300 363 736), Animal Welfare League of Queensland (Phone: 07 5509 9000)
  • Try to VISIT IN PERSON with a recent photograph of your missing pet all the local vets and The Pound if possible.  A busy vet clinic may not realise they have your cat whereas The Pound has been known to make mistakes in their description of found pets.
  • Call GCCC Waste Management (Phone:07 55816799) in case your pet’s body has been found
  • Notify the Animal Emergency Service (104 Eastlake Street, Carrara)  Ph: 07 5559 1599, Animal Emergency Centre (Unit 4, 492 Scottsdale Drive, Varsity Lakes) Ph: 07 5593 4544 and GCARE (Unit 4, 75 Casua Drive, Varsity Lakes) Ph: 07 5593 4544 … These Vets operate 6:00pm – 8:00am Monday – Thursday; 24 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday including all Public Holidays
  • Place large Posters up around the immediate area (and with vets etc), with a photo and description of your pet and contact details. Please ensure any photos you use in your posters are clear/high quality photos so as people can easily identify your lost pet (the same applies for posting photos online). If you want to offer a reward put “REWARD OFFERED” and do not disclose the amount at any time !
  • Ask neighbours to check in and around their yard (and on their roof as some cats have be known to become ‘stuck’ on a roof or in trees)
  • Walk around your neighbourhood, looking and asking if anyone has seen your pet (it’s advised that you be holding up your lost pet flyer so people will know you are not a salesperson thus will be more receptive).  Check all your local area dog parks especially if your dog likes to socialise with other dogs.
  • If your pet is NOT microchipped, please check all the local shelters and rescues as your pet (if it has passed a temperament test) may possibly be out on foster until a new home can be found for it.  This is a vitally important reason to make sure you microchip your pets because shelters/rescues will only re-home if there is no microchip and/or the details are out-of-date (especially phone numbers are disconnected).
  • If you have not found your pet within 48 hours: place an adverts in the local and national news papers in your area (if you have the budget),
  • Place online ads with all the Lost and Found sites in your area
